MM, Voice Performance
As a teacher, Hannah’s primary goal is to inspire her students, as she herself has been inspired over the years. Hannah works hard to help her students achieve excellence in technique and musicianship, while also ensuring a fun and trusting environment. In addition to serving on the Voice Faculty at Cardon Studios, Hannah is an Adjunct Professor at College of Southern Maryland.
A passionate fan of choral singing, Hannah performs with The 18th Street Singers under the direction of Benjamin Olinsky, as well as with the early music ensemble Illuminare under Vera Kochanowsky, and as a staff musician at The Ascension of St. Agnes in DC. Before her move to Washington, Hannah has sung with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Bohuslav Rattay in such works as Verdi’s “Requiem Mass” and Orff’s “Carmina Burana”.
A transplant from Texas, mezzo-soprano Hannah Baslee loves living and performing in the nation’s Capital. In her home state, Hannah received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Concordia University, where she was named featured soloist in performances of Bach’s “Magnificat”, Handel’s “Messiah”, Mendelssohn’s “Elijah”, and Vivaldi’s “Gloria”. Her undergraduate studies culminated in being named “Honor Music Student” at Concordia University, the music department’s highest honor. Hannah later completed her Masters in Music from the University of Texas at El Paso. Hannah’s favorite roles include Mrs. Lovett in Sondheim’s “Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” and, of course, the title role in Bizet’s “Carmen”.

Hannah is a wonderful teacher! I feel like she understands my voice and preferences and tries different tecniques to help me sound the best I can. She's also very positive/encouraging! Love the new master classes! I look forward to participating in more moving forward." - Danielle J., adult Voice
Hannah is great. Sometimes she really pushes me on technique and, in the moment I am resistant, but later it always pays off! When I'm not doing my best she is always ready to help me get back on track. Performing in Student Showcases is extremely helpful. The drive from where I live to the studio is kind of far, but my lessons are worth it so I don't mind so much!" - Marina diM., adult Voice
