Xavier Joseph, baritone, is a graduate of Georgia State University, where he completed his Master of Music in Voice Performance. He has also studied at Oakwood University and the Manhattan Summer Voice Institute at Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
Xavier is an active performer and has enjoyed interpreting numerous operatic and theatrical roles, including performing leading roles in The Old Maid and The Thief and Too Many Sopranos, the role of Maestro Spinelloccio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, King Melchior in Amahal & the Night Visitors, Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro, the 2nd Priest in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Peter in Hansel und Gretel, Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte, Pritschitsch in Lehar’s Merry Widow, and Ethan in the new opera, New Orleans Haunts, by young composer Phillip Seaward.
Having toured extensively with the world renowned Oakwood University Aeolians during his undergraduate tenure, Xavier continues to travel and perform throughout the US and worldwide, including participating in a musical exchange program at Renmin University in Beijing, China. In North America, Xavier has performed in major cities including NYC, Dallas, New Orleans, Portland, and Vancouver.
Xavier began teaching voice in Keller ISD in Dallas and found his love of helping others to express their music; he continued to teach voice and beginning piano at various schools throughout the DFW metro region, and also General Music for a K-2 population. Xavier, newly transplanted to DC, is excited to join the staff of Cardon Studios to continue sharing his passion for music education!
